  • 2011 schedule released

    WICHITA, Kan. ? The 2011 Wichita State baseball schedule features 17 games against 2010 NCAA Tournament teams along with 32 home games, head coach Gene Stephenson announced Nov. 30.
    “The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

    Not a bad schedule at all. Nice to see Oklahoma State back on the schedule.

      It is a very good schedule, other than the MVC tournament being in Bugaha.

        I guess there's a new rule out there that games can't start after 6:30 now?

        Nice schedule. Hopefully we can use it to our advantage.

        Omaha = lame. 2,000/game tops.

        ... No really, deuces.

          I hadn't noticed the 6:30 start times. Is that an NCAA rule, MVC rule, or something else? A short search revealed no 'official' rule chage about start time - there are plenty of other rule changes here. Starting earlier will take a little getting used to, but I'll probably like games ending a bit earlier. It appears there will be a pitch and inning clock as well - a change I will welcome.

            It must be NCAA, if anything, because even the non-conference games are all set up that way. Kinda weird. Maybe the NCAA thought 10:00 or 10:30 was a bit too late for the boys?

            Yeah, the pitch/inning clock will help things move along more smoothly.

                  +1

                  Perhaps the coaches have gotten together on the earlier start times. I looked yesterday at several big name programs (Texas, AZ State, Fla St., and others and 6PM or 6:30PM starts are common.

                        Can't really disagree. Our best non-con series against a Pac-10 team is once again in the middle of freaking March.. :roll:

                          The reason for the earler start time is to hopefully draw a bigger crowd to the game. Earlier start time = Earlier ending time. So people that have young children could feel better about bring their kids out to the game and getting them in bed sooner, etc.

                              I predict a meltdown on this board sometime in February.
