Driving on 21st last night after the hoops game I noticed quite a bit of work being done on the hill in the left-center field area. . Does anyone know what this project is ?

I saw that as well. The only thing I could think was that they are building a third pavilion, but I too would be interested to know something definitive.

Brent K said last week on the radio that the trees in the outfield have fallen victim to a disease and they are building a batter's eye.

        What is a batter's eye?

A hitting background. Usually a dark green wall.

The batter's eye or batter's eye screen is a solid-colored, usually dark area beyond the center field wall of a baseball stadium, that is the visual backdrop directly in the line of sight of a baseball batter, while facing the pitcher and awaiting a pitch. This dark surface allows the batter to see the pitched ball against a sharply contrasted and uncluttered background.

I'm glad our rock solid athletic department gave us an update to what has been going on.

I bet the MVC would throw a hissy fit if it was a retractable batter's eye.

An article I read said they were also installing cameras to video each at bat and the batter could go back to the dugout and analyze what he did and try to change if needed the next time.

I read that too. It should be good for our hitters.
