Baseball America Story on New Bat Rules for 2010-11
Actually, my comment about the bats was succinct and on topic and straight up.
The misanthropic among you immediately got into smack...showing a defensiveness. And I do understand. Does it really matter though, when you read my comment about the possible effect of the new bats, that it comes from a FSU guy?
I guess it does if you have bad memories.
Well, basketball season is upon us...I'll look for ya in the dance.
No, you were trying to pretend like FSU had a larger park than WSU and you were dead wrong because you apparently thought that dead center and the foul poles were the only part of an outfield wall. You got ridiculed because you said this on another team's fan site. Take you lumps about being clueless and move on.
I find it funny that you refuse to admit how blatantly wrong you were about FSU not being a larger park and having power alleys that make home run hitting easy and instead try to divert attention towards some paranoia over being attacked for being an FSU fan.
The reason that people associated your comment with you being an FSU guy is that your comment was from the FSU coach in reference to FSU's experience of the new bats. You are the one randomly bringing FSU onto a WSU message board, not us.
We've lost to Arkansas in post season play before, and yet we have a poster (CharlieHog) that is treated very well here because that person posts insightful comments and doesn't try to inject Arkansas into every discussion on this board. The way you are treated is a direct result of your own contributions.
What? FSU is a larger park...longer down left...longer in left center.... longer in center...and has a tall fence on top of the wall extending from right center to the right foul pole. The right foul line is shorter...but if you can top a 38 foot fence, you'll have hit it out at almost any park.
Just saying it isn't doesn't convince me...the dimensions are printed. Eck is a right handed power hitters park (according to Wiki with the wind often blowing from right field out to the short left).
Did you even pay attention to my post or the pictures I included on the first page? You do realize that a straight fence has a shorter distance to home plate than a curved fence, right?
Here is an exercise for you:
Step 1: Draw a circle
Step 2: Place dots at the 4 cardinal directions (North, South, East and West).
Step 3: Draw a straight line connecting the North point with the East point.
Step 4: Which line is closer to the South point across it's entire distance? The curved line between East and North, or the straight line between East and North?
Step 5: Remember that FSU has a straight fence, and WSU has a curved fence.
Step 6: Think about it long and hard and don't post until you have figured out the implications of this little exercise.
BTW, if you don't believe something just because some anonymous person on the internet said it, I have some bad news for you about Wikipedia . . .
