Howser may be deeper than Eck, it certainly doesn't play deeper than Eck. The place is a launching pad, as evidenced by a WSU that hit very few home runs at Eck having no problem going long in the post season at Howser.
Well...OK then. But losing the final two games to FSU 14-4 and 11-4 didn't put me into the mode of thinking "wichita power hitting" at Howser.

I guess you are right about those Wichita batters...but you can see why I was off track.

If FSU's left field and center are deeper than Eck...that alley from left to center right is deeper. Additionally, the power alley in right center to right has a fence on top of the 8 foot wall that graduates from 8 feet to 30 feet above the wall...makes a HR a little tougher than just a wall.

I understand the confusion. When you win a National Championship, they teach you how to properly measure dimensions.

Until then, it's just kind of guesswork.

          Notice this picture of Howser:

          Compare that to Eck:

Notice how the wall at Howser goes in a straight line from the foul poles to small straight center wall. Notice how Eck's wall is a continuous curve from the foul poles to center field. Having straight instead of curved walls significantly shortens the distance from the plate to the wall in the alleys compared to a curved set-up.

So yes, regardless of dimensions to the poles and to center, Howser plays smaller than Eck because the walls to the alleys are shorter. Try to learn how stadium dimensions work before pretending like you are the purveyor of fact.

Lmao, u r dumb. It's the truth, take a look from above using google maps. Dicks power alleys are like that of a high school field. It's 360 in rc and 365 in lc.

Btw, u come on here and post, usually with little underhanded comments. No buddy on here gives a poo about fsu or what their hitting coach has to say about things.

U should stick to the fsu forum or maybe some sort of acc forum. Maybe u guys could figure out a way to get all the acc teams an auto to the CWS.

I still have to remind myself why billy boy continues to show his face here. Soft spot for WSU and its fans? A bit envious? One must wonder. Those are the only reasons I could come up with... oh and wanting to get embarrassed in arguments.

                  LOL...

Naw...I just have fond memories of y'alls visit to Tallahassee. Watching Buster Posey go yard for the Giants in the World Series reminded me of that series.

I can't imagine what it must feel like being a rookie catcher and winning the World Series as a rookie...pretty dang good, I'll bet.

Actually, my comment about the bats was succinct and on topic and straight up.

The misanthropic among you immediately got into smack...showing a defensiveness. And I do understand. Does it really matter though, when you read my comment about the possible effect of the new bats, that it comes from a FSU guy?

I guess it does if you have bad memories.

Well, basketball season is upon us...I'll look for ya in the dance.

No, you were trying to pretend like FSU had a larger park than WSU and you were dead wrong because you apparently thought that dead center and the foul poles were the only part of an outfield wall. You got ridiculed because you said this on another team's fan site. Take you lumps about being clueless and move on.

I find it funny that you refuse to admit how blatantly wrong you were about FSU not being a larger park and having power alleys that make home run hitting easy and instead try to divert attention towards some paranoia over being attacked for being an FSU fan.

The reason that people associated your comment with you being an FSU guy is that your comment was from the FSU coach in reference to FSU's experience of the new bats. You are the one randomly bringing FSU onto a WSU message board, not us.

We've lost to Arkansas in post season play before, and yet we have a poster (CharlieHog) that is treated very well here because that person posts insightful comments and doesn't try to inject Arkansas into every discussion on this board. The way you are treated is a direct result of your own contributions.

What's funny is, if anyone's defensive, it's you. That's why you're still here. Do you see WSU fans on your board? No. Do we care enough about your program to venture on over your board? No. It all adds up.

When one has to think about 2 and half year old super regionals, you know you must have beaten the very best. It's as simple as that.

Anytime I think of the Florida State, I chuckle at the Chokenoles. Absolutely classic. Thanks for bringing up a great memory.

And TMH is absolutely spot on. You will have no formidable response with that one.

You're welcome. I'm glad to hear that those two double digit blow outs by FSU to end the series warm your heart as well as mine.

That's a beautiful thing. Reciprocity can not be overrated.

Bye for a while. Had to add some life in your dead season.

What? FSU is a larger park...longer down left...longer in left center.... longer in center...and has a tall fence on top of the wall extending from right center to the right foul pole. The right foul line is shorter...but if you can top a 38 foot fence, you'll have hit it out at almost any park.

Just saying it isn't doesn't convince me...the dimensions are printed. Eck is a right handed power hitters park (according to Wiki with the wind often blowing from right field out to the short left).

Yes, I'm glad that you're still talking about a 2 year-old series that FSU eventually got their asses (AGAIN) handed to them in Chokemaha.

Speaking of dead season.. Another big fat L for the Chokenoles football team. It's so funny how hypocritical you are.

You aren't going anywhere. WSU controls you and eats at you every time you go to sleep at night.

This is proven by your constant prowling here. We love knowing an FSU fan has an obsession with WICHITA STATE. It warms our hearts dearly.

You can always dream about National Championships, but you still have never experienced what we've experienced. And that's what makes me smile.

                                WSU > FSU. :yahoo:
