  • Pete Kozma

This is the kid who committed here a couple years ago but went pro after the draft?

He made Baseball America's Hot Sheet this week at #8.

It was 2007 (same class as Mitch Caster) Pete would have been a junior this past season if he had come to WSU.

        Bob Lutz should be excited.

In his first major league at bat, Kozma hit an RBI double down the third base line.

Pete hit a 3 run HR to help stake the Cardinals to a 4-1 lead vs the Nats about an hour ago.

And a game-winning 2 RBI single in the Top of the 9th to complete the comeback for the Cards.

Man, we really lost out on a couple of good gets a few years ago. Derrick Norris anyone?

              ... No really, deuces.

He has been fun to watch this postseason.

                    He his getting timely hits.

Smart base running. Going first to third on a sacrifice bunt. Scoring from second on a slow hit ball to second.

Getting an infield fly ruling on a pop fly to left.

Those baserunning plays are Shocker-style all the way. Too bad he didn't wait one more year to get as good as he did in high school.
