  • Shocks get LSU transfer?

According to the Baton Rouge Advocate, LSU senior pitcher Mitch Mormann is transferring to Wichita State.

Mormann, a 6-6, 232 lb right-hander out of Manchester, Iowa, by way of Des Moines Area CC, made 19 appearances in relief for LSU last season and went 3-0 with a 5.97 ERA.

In 2009, he was rated the No. 6 JUCO prospect by Baseball America, and he has been drafted twice -- in the 20th round in 2009 (San Francisco) and in the
    17th round in 2008 (Cleveland).

The LSU media guide describes him as "a power-arm sinker pitcher who posses low 90's fastball."

    LSU bio
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

Sounds like a good get for us.

seems a little odd for a senior to transfer - he will have to sit out a year before playing that senior year, right?

Questions rise in my mind as well. Drafted in '08 in 17th round, '09 in 20th, not at all in '10 (probably, we just don't know)?

He's ERA may be high, however, LSU's team ERA was 5.56 and their #1 reliever with 11 saves had a 6.38 ERA and 2-4 record.

He's pitching this summer with Waterloo of the Northwoods League with dubious results ...

Still ... great arm with fastball in the 90s. Maybe Brent can get him on track.

OUCH!! Real control problems. Brent may have to break out his special Harry Potter wand to keep these demons in check.

Yeah - his arrow seems to be pointing the wrong direction. Hopefully he'll get it figured out...at least he's another body in the bullpen.

I wonder if he will participating as a walk-on?

Thanks, Wuzee. Tells you a lot about Brent's rep as a PC, as if there was any question about that.

It sounds like a great prospect. You can't teach size and throwing a 90 mph fastball.

The other stuff BK can help with. There is a lot of potential with this one.
