  • If the Big 12 Manages to Survive

We should be doing EVERYTHING humanly possible to play baseball as a Big 12 member.

With Nebraska gone, they are back to an uneven amount of programs.

We're a fit in every way imaginable. Hell, we're a better fit than Nebraska.

Yes it would be GREAT for us, but it doesn't actually suck for whomever remains in that conference.

    Thoughts?

Does that mean we'd get some of that Big 12 TV money?

Unfortunately, we are the only ones who know we are a good fit. The current Big 12 universities are so high on themselves they'd turn their nose as quick as a blink at the thought of us joining.

TCU is in the College World Series, played in a BCS bowl, and is in Texas.

Someone tell me again why we should be all high and mighty on ourselves joining the Big 12 over a school like TCU?

          1. No more conference tourneys at Eck Stadium.
          2. Fewer conference titles (regular season or tourney.)
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

That would be great except Elgin would throw a fit because wsu is the only program they can count on in baseball.

Ultimately my person morality says wsu has to be either alll in or all out.

I would not mind if WSU joined the "Big 12" but I don't see football in WSU's future.

I have no problem with either of these issues.

I'd love to see the Shocks at OKC and I'm certain we'd be better prepared for post season action.

Finishing 6th in the Big 12 is usually good enough to get into the NCAA tournament, and frankly that's all I care about.

You get better by challenging yourself. Its what (used to) makes our country the greatest country in the world. The Valley used to be competitive. Make no mistake.....a sizable chunk of responsibility of our downfall is attributable to the deadweights within the Valley.

                  Outside of the Big 12...

What teams would you want in a super-(non-football)baseball conference?

Well the Big East blows so Louisville & Notre Dame, TCU, ORU and Rice come to mind right off the bat. Geographically speaking, it's tough being where we are.

There is going to be some travel involved.

Any chance of Oral Roberts, Tulsa, Wichita State, Missouri State combining with Rice and TCU to begin to recruit some other schools?

Maybe even coax Baylor out of the Big XII...

Bring back football tomorrow. No make that today. That is our only chance to get into the big 12.

Even if WSU announced tomorrow that they were bringing back football it would be years before they could try and move to Div I FBS. It is not going to happen.
