Yeah I was thinking baskeball when I made that post about FSU getting to play their hated in-state rival.

But even in baseball there was about a 7 year period when neither Ku nor Kstate would play us. After Gene re-started the baseball program in 1978, we played both Ku and Kstate several times in 1978 and beat them several times.

So neither one would play us after that initial 1978 season. It wasn't until about 7 years later that ku and Kstate started playing us again in baseball. It took getting to the national championship game in 1982, and several ncaa appearances before they would play us again. :wsu_posters:

Sigh...it lasted longer than most of us had hoped. One of the six teams of all still left standing and sending the hated Lizards home was OK with me.

Pitching was just so very weak this year and it would catch up...

Sayonara...see y'all in the spring. I do hope that the Shocks take the Valley next year and I think that you will. WSU will have some hitters in the lineup and what looks to be a good rotation. If the bullpen comes around, WSU should easily be the best team of the conference.

Wait--TCU came back and won that game?!?

I fell asleep assuming FSU would muddy it up, but still win.

TCU scored a ton of runs in the 8th inning including a grand slam to come back and win the game.

FSU didn't appear to have much relief pitching.

Anybody catch OU being eliminated in 12 innings last night? They led in the top of 12, but couldn't get the last out. South Carolina advances to meet rival Clemson in Final 4.

TCU's ace wins today forcing a second game vs UCLA tomorrow to see who moves on to the best of three CWS championship round on Monday.

The BCS won't like TCU in the title game. Go TCU I hope you win it all.
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

In the "Holy Crap Look at the size of that guys stones" Department, I submit South Carolina relief pitcher Michael Roth.

                    Season: 35 appearances, 26 1/3 innings
