To be fair Fever, TCU's pitcher would have smoked any team he faced that day - yes even us. But the base running blunder not tagging back up at third was kind of humorous.

To be fair Fever, TCU's pitcher would have smoked any team he faced that day - yes even us. But the base running blunder not tagging back up at third was kind of humorous.

No doubt about it. Purke is a stud and would have owned anybody with his gangsta look.

But this isn't about that. This is about billybud going silent (as predicted) and watching Florida State do what they always do in Omaha.. a quick exit! I love it!!!

Purke, as the analysts say, may be the best pitcher out there today.

He is very good. After that disastrous start by Gilmartin in the 1st...the game wasn't too bad from then on.

The Noles left 11 guys in scoring position without a hit...that is what a really good pitcher can do to you. But then, most Noles didn't expect to still be around today with the weak pitching and inconsistant hitters on this team. There are no Posey's on this club (Posey, by the by is hitting .303 for the Giants...league leader is .304).

The highlight of the season for me, after last night, was beatng our hated in state rival, Florida.

Florida won the SEC regular season championship and FSU has now played them five times, in five different cities and stadiums, winning four.
It doesn't get any sweeter than to be the one to send your hated rival home.

Now...it's three and iced tea instead of two and Barbeque.

From the little that I've seen, it looks like better pitching next year may be the key (I know that it is for us).

I do wish we had a 15-0 killer hurler like Purke to guarantee the opening win of a series. He has three good pitches and good placement.

Yeah...wasn't always so. The Lizards didn't want to play FSU way back in the day. Then the political honchos in the legislature started threatening.


Who is WSU's "hated in state rival" that you do not play? KSU, Kansas, or both.

I guess we are lucky in Florida. FSU plays Florida and Miami and Georgia every year and can fill in with smaller Florida schools before the ACC schedule kicks in....

Schools like Stetson, Jacksonville U., North Florida U, were on the schedule this year.
