Good pitcher, but he really got lit up in the tourney championship game.

Yes he did, but it wasn't because of a lack of skill. 3 days rest and when you have lost all confidence in the defense behind you = loss.

He didn''t lose any confidence in the defense, but keep spewing KC. You're like that well at the bottom of the Gulf. I'll hang up and wait for the cussing and profanity.

I agree with the three days rest but the defense was the same as it was all year (spotty) and he didn't have a major problem before.

On that day, he simply had more difficulty locating his pitches than ever before this year. When you get pitches up and over the middle of the plate to decent hitters, and then add some defensive problems, a beat down is the result. His control over the majority of the year was probably his greatest strength. When you're tired or at least not used to pitching on less rest, the location suffers.

I guess you weren't at the game were you? When Baez made those bone headed mistakes that cost runs, especially the throwing error to second base, I watched Coop just slump his head and you can tell the energy was being drained right out of him. So for that game, I can say yes it did appear he lost confidence in the defense. I'd like for you to offer some sort of sunshine pumping explanation of the non-verbal language I observed after that play. Good luck.

Baez's error did change the complexion of the game. I think Coop would have found it eventually. He just needed some time and Baez took that margin away with his play.

Good luck to Baez in his life and seems like a nice kid..............but the one positive to the season ending was that it meant his career at WSU was over.

                    Ta

The second part of your sentence just completely crapped on the first half. Was that really necessary at this point?

Will, thanks for picking Wichita State.

                        oh boohoo

Like I said I'm sure he is a great person and wish him luck. Sorry if some of you can't admit he was a terrible defensive second baseman.

So let me put it this way. I'm looking forward to better defense at second base next year.

Come on. Ta town was just being realistic. Is it not true that Baez was a horrible second baseman?

I also would like to thank him for his contributions to our program but let's face it, we will see improvement in that position now that he is gone.
