Wittels tied Wichita State's Phil Stephenson, who hit in 47 straight games in 1981. Oklahoma State's Robin Ventura holds the NCAA record with a 58-game streak in 1987.
Wittels hit a third-inning single to left field off FAU's Mike Gipson, after getting hit by a pitch in the first inning. He has a hit in every game he's played this season, entering Friday with a .408 batting average.
