  • Rain out?

Has the game been cancelled for today?

  • #2
From what I've seen, it looks like they are going to try to get the game in. The NWS is calling for a 90% chance of rain, but the Weather Channels hourly forecast starts at 70% for 11am & drops 10% every hour after.

If you look at the radar (which is the most important tool in this instance), there is a pocket of light to moderate rainfall in the Kingman area that will be moving through the next hour or two. After that, it's all clear. And considering we have a brand new artificial turf field with a pretty good draining system and I'd like to think the game will be delayed by no more than 30 minutes... maybe 45.
      Deuces Valley.
      ... No really, deuces.

Great thing about the new field is that it can take a ton of water and still be playable.I'm sure they will play today.

Definitely will not be rained out. There may not even be a delay. Image from GRLevel3 and will update whenever the Wichita TDWR radar updates (usually about ~6 minutes).

              Too bad

Bad break, as it turned out -- where's a good timely downpour to save things when the wrong Josh Smith shows up?

At least Lowell got in a little work and did a pretty nice job. If he's back, even for 60-70 pitches or so, by Valley tournament time, that would be a huge plus and edge for the Shocks.
