    The Bears are 18-28 overall and 4-11 in the Missouri Valley Conference and are coming off of a sweep by Illinois State over the weekend. Wins this season have come against Texas-Arlington, North Dakota State three times, Arkansas State, Central Arkansas twice, Evansville, Oral Roberts three times, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Saint Louis, SIUE, Creighton twice, and Indiana State. Losses have come against Georgia Tech three times, Texas-Arlington twice, North Dakota State, SEMO, Southern Miss three times, Arkansas State, Wright State, Oklahoma State, Evansville twice, Kansas twice, Bradley three times, Creighton, Arkansas, Indiana State twice, Missouri and Illinois State three times. MSU is led offensively by Kevin Medrano who is hitting .421 with 15 doubles, two triples, three home runs, 27 RBI and 10 stolen bases. As a team, the Bears are hitting .268 with a team ERA of 4.83. MSU is led by 28th-year head coach Keith Guttin.

    Last Meeting vs. the Bears
    The last meeting between the two teams was a three-game series April 17-19, 2009, in Springfield, Mo. MSU won all three games by scores of 8-2, 12-8 and 2-0. The Shockers hit just .121 in the series. Tim Kelley, Justin Kemp and Jordan Cooper each took a loss for the Shockers.
