  • Top 50 victories

I know at this point it doesn't matter but...

-Washington State broke back into top 50 at 48

-Florida Gulf Coast is sitting at 55 and has a game against number 14 Auburn this week and some other quality games left that could put them into top 50.

-South Alabama is sitting at 58 with quality games left

-Kansas is at 57, would be sweet if they could win 2 of 3 next weekend against number 44 Kstate, plus being in big 12 always means oppurtunity to move up rpi with a good weekend.

Potentially WSU could end up with 5 top 50 wins, but that would take all these teams finishing strong. AGAIN I know it's too late for at large but I'm bored and nothing better to do right now.

I still think we have a small outside chance at an at large bid if we win out and do no worse than 2nd in the tourney.Big 12 is down this year and won't get in as many at large leaving a spot or 2 open.

No. 16 ranked (MVC) Conferences only get 1 bid. Doesn't matter what happens the rest of the regular season (nobody is going to be impressed with wins against RPI 184 (x3), 173 (x1) and 118 (x3).

That's great. We now have 3 rpi top 50 wins (2xFGCU, WaSU). Let's go USA! Let's get number 4. And if Ku can finish strong (like take 2 out of 3 against Kstate), we might get to 5 top 50 wins.

Uh, this is all meaningless. Top 50 wins pretty much only matter to at-large teams. I think we would be a solid No.3 seed if we won the tourney, but 5 Top 50 wins isn't gonna improve our seed.

Actually I think we still have an outside shot at an at large bid IF we win out, finish first in the regular season and lose in the championship game (remember this year, you can lose the Valley tourney with just one loss).

At that point we would have an rpi in the low 50s or high 40s, We would have finished the season very strong (9-1 in last ten games), we would have 4 or 5 wins (hopefully) over top 50 teams, and we would be at or near 40 division 1 wins.

The bubble this year is pretty weak and with the above stats and our reputation we could get in. We would at least be under at large consideration with a chance to still get in. Last year at this time (3rd place Valley finish, a record around .500, a much worse rpi) we had absolutely no chance for a long time.

It's pretty impressive to look at a list of all 200+ DI teams and see that the Shox are in the top 65, even in what we consider a down year. I hope there is a chance for an at-large berth, but hope even more we win the Tourney outright and remove all pressure!
