Let's relax. This doesn't mean they have turned their season around, remember last time we had a great Friday night shutout (against LBSU) and we then self destructed. Granted, ISU red is no LBSU but still. We sweep this weekend, then I'll believe we got something going.

While I agree with your sentiments KC, it's nice to see the team carry over from two big midweek wins into the weekend against arguably the Valley's hottest team.. on the road no less.
Solid outing. I give Cooper POG honors.
This needs to continue tomorrow and Sunday if it's anything substantial.
Game's on the tube tomorrow as well.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Great start to a very important weekend. Good thing we got the game in. Looks like the area is going to get pounded by storms tonight. No rain forecast for tomorrow day, but 70% chance Saturday night with a 40% chance Sunday morning. Hope their field can take some rain. I'd hate for this nice run the Shox have put together get de-railed by rain outs or too wet of field.

GREAT GAME! The wind was blowing even stronger tonight than it was blowing Wednesday night in Wichita. We would have won 15-0 if it wasn't for the wind. The wind knocked down several of our hard hit balls.
Cooper pitched a great game, our defense was very good in these awful conditions tonight and Chance ptiched very well out of the bullpen. Preston really crushed the ball into that Gale, it went out at the deepest part of the park (400 ft). Harbutz also hit a nice HR.
Another totally awesome win and a great way to start the weekend series. :wsu_posters:

I couldn't pick-up the game as we were out at Pratt for softball. Didn't get back in range (east of Kingman) until the Kemnitz show came on. Boy, evening/night range of 1330 is horrible.
Anyway, it looked like Cooper was stellar (duh), although the 126 pitch count is of some concern. A little wildness by Cooper could have been a problem, but IlSt couldn't get anything going against him. He is clearly the best pitcher in the MVC.
The offensive guys who have been carrying the team continue to do so. Springer, Coy, and Lassley continue their extra base and RBI barrage. Keep it up, boys. Top of the order had a bit of an off night. Everyone either scored or drove in a run - that's a balanced attack.
Josh Smith needs to continue his solid pitching today. Sorkin for IlSt has been pretty good so far this season, but has just 5 starts so far. The Shox need to rattle him early and get into the Redbirds bullpen, which is not good.
The weather shouldn't be a factor today with much less wind. Chance of rain overnight and Sunday - the Shox need to play and win all 3 games.
One more, one at a time.
