Well it's obvious that shock49 has only one comeback in his arsenal, since he seems to use it so often now. Unfortunately hes dead wrong. Any coach in his right mind BETTER care what his fans think, because nowadays, fans can cost a coach his job. I'm sure Gene shares many of the attitudes expressed here. He doesn't need to really "care" about what we say because I'm confident he feels the same way - probably times 10.

There are days when posters here questions whether Gene should continue coaching. I'm sure there are days Gene wakes up and wonders the same thing. Or when some player does something abolutely bone-headed, I wouldn't be surprised if Gene feel like throwing in the towel, just like many posters here feel Gene should think about doing that.

SN has a pretty good cross-section of fans. Everything from rabid "rah-rah - the program can do no wrong" fans to the most cynical nad negative fans. Gene's more of a fan of the program than all of us combined.
