The fact that Cocking is Howard Sherwood's grandson may have steered him towards KSU just a bit.

So you were just celebrating the fact that a kid who was committed to KSU as a baby actually went there?
And you further celebrated that he got his first hit this season in Wichita?

Congrats. Thanks for posting that critical information.

Great to see a local Derby kid steal his first base in Wichita.

Get on Harbutz so WSU doesn't have to lead off with Baez next inning.

              PLEASE

dang it......hoping for a hbp or something so Baez could strikeout and clear the bottom of the order.

What do you know......5 baserunners in 4 innings and nobody past 2nd base.

So are flyballs and strikeouts from a kid with WT power!!!!!

What is really tiring is that a senior hitting .250 starts every game for "offensive" reasons. Gene basically admitted Davidson is the better fielder by putting him in for defensive reasons over the weekend.

So start the f-ing freshman!!!!!! he is already the better defender and I bet he can strikeout and popout just as good.

I agree 100%! Let the freshman play and get some experience. What's it going to hurt?

If we only had a kid from Manhattan hitting .045

i saw bascue and K. Hall play several times this summer for the Twins, and Bascue was legitimate all summer, Hall's bat has always looked slow to me. I'm just stunned that he doesn't warrant starting all the time. Maybe they are changing that starting tonight.

Halls approach at the plate is baffling to say the least.

He can't bunt for s*** yet has tremendous speed. Likes to jam himself on 2-0 and 3-1 counts, etc.

I can't quite descibe it but he simply doesn't put himself in positions to be successful at the plate. Even when you think he has worked the count in his favor he then guesses completely wrong and watches a fastball right down the middle or swings at some pitchers pitch when the count doesn't warrant it.
