We really haven't done crap (no CWS) in 14 years and now we're breaking records of futility from 20+ years ago?
We've fully come back to the MVC pack and are really no better than them, we just pay more for tickets and salaries and facilities.
Mid-major results with a high-major budget.

What's the fuss? Aren't we batting 12 points higher than last season? This is progress people.
maybe so, but other aspects of the game aren't improving. is it safe to say that the alumni are getting rather rattled with the performance on the field an in the coaching staff?
i don't think that this has anything to do with conference affiliation, as much as a lack of fire in the dugout.

The 2009 team set a Stephenson-era low at .275 breaking the previous low of .289 set by the 2005 team.
After our hot 10-1 start this year the Shocks were hitting .342 as a team.
Since that time the Shocks are 11-11 while hitting .259 as a team. (.250 excluding the two NAIA opponents). Those 22 games were split equally between road and home games (including the 2 NAIA opponents).
Clearly heading the wrong direction.
Interestingly, excluding the NAIA opponents, the Shocks are hitting .339 at home this year compared to .239 on the road. Perhaps that is simply due to the difference in quality of opponent at home vs. on the road. But that is a stark contrast.
Now for the Hope and Change: After the INS series the Shocks play 17 of their final 23 games at Eck Stadium. Hopefully, that will bring some positive change.
