  • JUCO HITTERS?

Andy Dirks and Preston Springer are good examples of how Juco guys can come in and contribute offensively immediately.

Why doesn't Gene go with some more of these guys?

I think the kid from Des Moines is a stud but I bet he never makes it here as he is eligible for the draft this spring. Hopefully he wants to continue to work on his skills in college and not the pros yet.

Anyways seems like the B12 teams always have a couple jucos that hit well.

Wasn't Jason White a juco transfer, I can't recall anymore?

No, he came in from an NAIA school.

But here are a few that panned out: Toby Smith, Jerry Stein, Nick Blasi, Billy Hall, Tim Hayes and Phil Napolitan. There have been others that have been just so so as well.

Also Terry Elliott, Arnie Beyeler, Dan Juenke, Shawn Land, and several more in the 80's.

We have had quite a few juco pitchers too.
