  • Arizona State fans crying about the new uniform start date

"... The NCAA is trying to take away an advantage that was awarded to certain institutions by God. ..."

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

So Arizona State, who was ranked No.1 for several weeks, and won like their first 23 games, is complaining about the universal start date?

      What a bunch of ****-ups.
      Deuces Valley.
      ... No really, deuces.

....That way, in 75 years when our baseball team rises to a national powerhouse, they can get a few games in earlier than Wichita State and the University of Vancouver.”

March 1st? That means the season needs to go well after school is over, which means residence halls have to be kept open for just the baseball players past the season, and athletic depts have to come up with more money to pay for those expenses. Maybe baseball should become a fall sport that starts in August and finishes in November like MLB.

Hey, that is not a bad idea. The BCS schools may lose interest in support having to compete against football, the weather would be better here for the most part than in the spring, and our hitters would be coming off of summer ball where they actually had real coaching. :D

doesn't school go all year round?

What about basketball players who are "encouraged" to stay around all summer?

Wasn't it mean Gene's idea to start March 1st with the CWS championship series being held over the 4th of July?

schools do have summer classes, but athletic scholarships are for fall and spring. And most residence halls will shut down during the summer because traditional students are gone. Now, if Gene wants to give up some of his salary to pay for these expenses....

Based on last night Gene should give up some salary for something positive. ;-)

hey, just doing a little stalking around his site when it popped up. More than happy to take credit. Actually I have a co-worker who is a shockernetter also who decided to get me all riled while I was visiting the site. Here I thought I had a scoop. Although we might have to stir things up Monday morning.
