Perhaps it's 'opposite day'. The first two games of this series, our offense disappeared in the late innings and our relief was pretty good. Today, our relief stinks and now it's time for the offense to bail them out once again. I hope so.

Is GM BK's favorite or why does he continue to get chances when the game is on the line? It just amazes me. How many more times are we going to try the same thing and expect a different result?

This sums it up pretty well.

From what they were saying on the radio TJ and TM were being saved for Nebraska on Tuesday.

My question is which is more important for this team a Big 12 win or MVC win?

I would vote for the MVC.
Let's hope he can hit a D-1 Curve ball!

Very disappointing performance all around (coaching, pitching, hitting).

The hitters that last 3 inning did not compete, and in the 9th they acted like spoiled rich kids who think they are entitled even though they have not worked a day in the life - and that is on the coach.

Fittingly the Shockers are now in 2nd place by % points.

SB, I am thinking twice about the Omaha trip.

                      Time will tell.

Two out of three in a series and six in a row overall is about as much as we can ask from this team and their coaches. Davidson, at a minimum, needs to platoon and Bascue and Bennett need to both be in the lineup somehow at the same time. Oh, and Cobey Guy needs to be the first and last reliever in the game, period. I don't get the love shown to some players. Is it insanity or arrogance?

I agree to a certain extent, but I know for a fact that we had runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs, our 3hole and 4hole hitter up and Gene (#10, with 1700+ wins under his belt granted) had these guys on a 1st strike take. Other words, see the first strike and take it. Jones had a 2-0 94 mph fastball down the middle and had to TAKE? Sorry, but the way thes guys are swinging it, you don't have these guys o a take, imho. He fouled off a 98 mph fastball and looked at a questionable outside strike that set him down. You can't take the confidence these guys have built up and strip it from them. Thoughts? There were other opportunities to get the job done I realize, but our pen has to step up somewhere along the line. It isn't difficult to pitch when it is 9-2 or 9-2, like the last couple of days, but we had a 5-4 lead into the 7th and gave it up, someone has to take responsibility.

Poor ending to a good week.

The Nebraska game will probably be a shootout. Hopefully we bring the most ammo.

                                Seriously.. Grant Muncrief?

Is Gene dating his mom or something? I don't freaking get it.

This needed to be a sweep. This makes the whole weekend useless.
