Losing to Evansville is not acceptable in any sport let alone baseball!

While I would generally agree that losing to Evansville in any sport shouldn't happen, unlike the last place basketball team, the Evansville baseball team appears to be one of the better teams in the Valley. They took 2 of 3 games last weekend at Missouri State and their baseball RPI is about twice as good as their basketball teams was.

I don't have a problem with losing to Evansville in baseball. Those things happen in this sport. It is the way we are losing that is frustrating and disappointing.

Evansville is not good. Have you checked Missouri State's record recently? Beating them doesn't mean anything. I agree that losing to a Division II athletics program is not good.


This team plain sucks. The only way they score runs is with walks. They don't hit. They don't execute. They are an embarrassment to what has been established. Each coach deserves to get ripped at this point. Obviously Gene and JT have already been served, but it's time to enter BK into the equation. The one saving grace this season has been our weekend starting pitching. It now appears that is starting to nosedive.

The coaches and players have the mentality and adversity of 3 year old girls.

Painful to watch Logan Hoch and Tyler Fleming trying to come back from their shoulder surgeries. It just doesn't look like it is working for them.

where are the veteran guys on the team?

we are bad in every phase - the fielding and hitting especially in hitter counts is especially frustrating.

Brent needs to flip it and have a meltdown on the diamond, one that deserves a multi-game suspension. Somebody has to lite a fire, right?

Not sure how much good that would do with this team. We have a great bunch of young men who are just don't have the talent and /or baseball IQ we have been used to.

Brent has just as big of a rebuilding job in front of him as does Gene. The bullpen is in a shambles (not all Brent's fault -- the injuries to Hoch, Fleming and Muncrief have definiely hurt).

A little off topic but I was browsing through goshockers.com and was wondering why the youtube highlight videos and interviews only occur after wins? They managed to get the interviews in Mobile after the huge wins but then when we lose in Mancrappin, there's nothing. I've noticed this all year. Is that just stupid WSU policy or do they simply not wanna talk to a cranky coach and whiny players? Cuz right now, I'd be more interested in the interviews and explanations after the losses than after the wins.

Yes I know our website is used to promote the university but come on. It's a tad lame.

Here is the positive spin for tonight --- uhm, I was going to say that we at least did not get run-ruled but maybe that would have been more merciful for Shocker fans.

Wait here's something -- the Shocker Men's Tennis team did dominate Creighton today in a 6-1 win.

Not going to win a lot of games when you give up 11 runs.
