Disagree. They are good and play the game right - especially at home. The rest of the season will show that.
They're currently 3-5 at home. I said they were decent. It remains to be seen how good they are. Obviously, they are better than us.
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

Thank you! Getting just a bit tired of the negativity when we are down and the we-haven't-played-any-quality-teams attitude when are up.

4 errors. Almost as many errors as hits so far.

Yeah, shox are looking like pretenders. Here is my summation of this team:

          1. Better hitting, but not a great hitting team with a little pop in their bat
          2. Bad fielding team for Shox standards
          3. Suspect Bullpen
          4. Starting Pitching Staff that is not looking as good as they were last year

Looks like the basketball team. Beat up on the cupcakes and struggle against the good ones. Oh well.

I can't complain about the hitting, and I believe the starting pitching will be fine. It's 2 and 3 on your list that worry me.

It's a long season....remember how good we looked when we took two of three from Long Beach at home last year? That was the high point of the season for most of the year.

Check back after the ORU games next week and reevaluate. We have many midweek games to make up this debacle.

real problem with hitting is their K's. I agree 2 and 3 are probably the most disconcerting.

And that other in-state team just took another game from the #1 team in the country at their place. The news just keeps getting better.

                      Well put.

Man, this place can change moods FAST in a couple of days. Such is the nature of baseball. Its a 50+ game long season for a reason.

That is actually good news. We need all the cracks we can at good RPI games.

For a team that was expecting to make a "bigger step", this series should have been won. 5 errors in a rubber match and absolutely ZERO hitting/runs is not a good sign.

It appears our numbers were indeed inflated.

I believe (at least now) that Brent will find a 'pen. I think we have enough attitude to hit enough on most days. Starting pitching is good and deep.

Kicking the ball around like we've done isn't going to work and could tear this team up, which would be terribly bothersome.

Fever you are right - kind of. We knew coming into the season our starting pitching would be good but our relief would still be a questionmark. We had a feeling our hitting would be better and it is to a point. It appears this year, we no longer have to worry about getting hits and runs against the bad teams. If we play Tabor again, we no longer have to sweat bullets.

But that is the extent of improvement for this team. We still haven't improved near enough to win a series against the good teams. And no it is not too early in the season to say this.

Gene's philosophy of sacrificing defese for hitting certainly backfired this series. Let's hope this changes or it will be another year we fail to break the 40 win plateau.

Florida Gulf Coast is a good team, at least a top 40 program. We won that series. Do you ever get tired of listening to yourself?
