What an awesome performance. Could have not asked for anything better to open this one up. Kelley had a MASTERFUL performance and our bats were extremely solid against a pretty decent pitcher.

Kelley really set the tone for the road trip tonight. Very efficient game offensively. Despite a high strikeout total for the hitters, they stayed with it and opened the flood gates in the 7th. Ryan Jones and Tim Kelley tonights co-stars.

I know off-topic, but did anyone notice who beat #1 LSU at their place tonight? I say keep winning. We need to beat high RPI teams in the future as the Valley won't be doing us any favors.

We should win this series, if not sweep. We have better, more experienced, starting pitching to go with what looks a much more potent offense. LBSU only has 2 home runs, they don't get on base, don't steal well, and as a team have a .692 OPS. We should do well, if we keep playing well.

Even though Ryan Jones hit a HR tonight, it is very hard to hit a HR at Blair Field. It is a big park and the air is very heavy and humid being near the ocean, so balls don't carry out very well.

R.I.P. Dirtbags/Shox annual series. It is a darn shame they can't continue the series. I said it before and I'll say it again. This has to make Gene cringe come scheduling time. Arkansas, Oklahoma, Long Beach, who else won't schedule us anymore?

Although I won't hold a grudge against Long Beach since it is purely economics for them.

Brent said on his radio show tonight that while we won't play next year, discussions are going on to continue the series in the future. He sounded very optimistic that the series would coninue after a year or two off.

They won't be playing next year because of budgetary reasons. Once the economy improves this series should be back on track.

Nothing like playing your first TWENTY games in the friendly confines (& 25 out of the first 28 ). Fantastic way to garner ol' Mo.

A greater weight must be put on playing road games. LSU play ZERO non-conference games away from home. ZERO. That's a joke and there is no way they should be awarded a regional, I don't care how many games they win. A free pass to the CWS to prove they can win away from Baton Rouge is BS.

Well, LSU makes a lot of money from home games, you can hardly blame them for taking advantage of it.

Obviously LSU will get tested on the road in conference play. LSU is going to play five road series in venues tougher than most teams will play in all year.
