MSU has made a nasty habit of underperforming terribly in the non-conference portion of its schedule, only to wreak havoc and remember how to pitch once league play starts.

If they are going to start horribly once again this season, I would prefer they stay that way the entire year.

Listening to the third game of this series was delicious. We have a family friend who plays for UNM, and it was sweet to hear them take the rubber match in that series. Even better because UNM is not a great team this year.

I'm sure Coach Garrido was consoled by his friends Jim Beam and Jose Cuervo afterwards.

Did I hear right that K State threw their starter 8 1/3 innings yesterday? Holy crap.
Because Denny Crane says so Dammit!

                Some other surprises:

Cal State Fullerton lost to Pepperdine & Oregon

                Rice got swept by Stanford

                  Yeah I hate Texas.
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

81 pitches? Wow, A+ for efficiency on that start.

The Beakers are currently losing 2-1 in the 7th inning of their opener against Eastern Michigan. Here's to hoping the state's flagship program gets swept tonight.

Game 2: Kansas lead 9-1 in the 8th.

Jayhawks have drawn six bases loaded walks and have only four hits. EMU's bullpen throws strikes like the Auto Workers' Union saves jobs.

We should pound these guys into oblivion in Alabama this weekend.

After that diaster of an inning, Eastern Michigan answers with 4 runs so far. It's 5-9 with a runner on 2nd & 1 out.

EDIT: And it's a final. KU wins 5-9.
