“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

Also ... Ryan Jones has joined Kevin Hall and Bret Bascue with the Derby Twins for the tournament. That trio could be the starting outfield for WSU next year (although Mitch might have something to say about that). They play tonight at 5 p.m. against the Casa Grande AZ Cotton Kings.

Looks like Jones has been added to the Derby Twins roster, but won't join the team until after the Cape regular season ends. Falmouth is playing out the string, with their final game on Aug. 6.

Not only 2 stolen bases, but a steal of home.

Not only a steal of home but a straight steal of home on the front end of a triple steal. Good stuff!

Considering that the coaches made a point of bringing him in even though he has only one year left, I'd say it's extremely likely that Bennett will have something to say about it. My guess is that he'll go into fall ball as a projected starter or DH and someone will have to beat him out. What we've seen from the others in terms of performance vs. potential has frankly been less than overwhelming -- and don't forget Micah Green, either.

It's great to have some serious competition and depth in the OF. Fall ball is gonna be awesome this year.
