Conference realignment season is so much fun.

    Wichita
    Tulsa
    Missouri State
    Arkansas State
    SMU
    TCU
    Rice
    Houston
    Louisiana
    La-Tech

    Trave partners
    Wichita-Tulsa
    MSU-ASU
    Rice-Houston
    SMU-TCU
    UL-La tech

Before you laugh it off as being irrelevent, think about it. How would this conference look in 20 years as some of those schools continue to progress.
It is a mix of schools with great tradition along with some new blood. There are no directional schools save for Louisiana Lafeyette who is still fighting with the legislature over thier name change to University of Louisiana.

It would be a top tier baseball conference with national powers (Wichita, Rice and Houston) Very solid baseball schools in (MSU, UL and TCU) one descent program in La-Tech and one bottom dragger in Arkansas State.

Basketaball would be on par with the current MVC which doesn't say a lot. However, WSU will have far greater access to the southern Texas area we recruit so heavily. Imagine what Marshall coould do with that kind of exposure down there.

Football would be on par with the current CUSA. We wouldn't be world changers but it is worth it because A: we would have football back on campus, and B: Baseball and Basketball would tremendously benefit from this move. And before you say "nobody will come watch us play these schools in basketball," or "we're a basketball school that would never work" I would like to counter with this... Is there really any difference in fan enthusiam to watch the shox play Evansville, Drake, or Indiana State? What is the difference between those schools and Arkansas State, UL and La Tech? Nothing as far as I am concerned. I would much rather watch the shox play TCU, SMU, Rice and Houston then watch them play Bradley, Illinois State and Northern Iowa. It would suck to lose CU and SIU but we can live with what we would gain.

This also makes for a tidy little conference with excellent travel partners. In my little world we hold at ten until the league grows strong enough to support a Football championship game. Schools to keep an eye on would include Texas State, University of North Texas, UTSA, Illinois State and Southern Illinois.

PS...This will never happen as TCU would never leave the MWC and Houston will be in full freak out mode if Memphis goes Big East and they don't get their MWC invite. Now, where did I put that crack pipe?...

Yup, I always enjoy playing this game.

      Pick 10-12 of the following:
      WSU
      MoSt
      Tulsa
      Rice
      Houston
      UTEP
      SMU
      W Kentucky
      ORU
      Tulane
      LA Tech
      LA Laf

I still believe you can have a 10-12 team conference with only 8-10 teams playing football, IF those schools that don't, bring enough to the table in other sports and facilities. By the way, WSU will probably never have football if they stay in the Valley. I think the chances are much higher, at some point in the future, in a conference with the above teams.

Yes, TCU would not leave the MWC. I'm just not sold, at this time, by any of the teams of the Southland or potentially available teams in Arkansas. Some here at SN like St. Louis --- tell me again why? Aren't we trying to get away from teams like these? Memphis current situation (problems) and location keep them out of this group.

WKU may have been spurned by the Valley, but not by this group. This would be a definite improvement for them. LA Tech is out of place location-wise in the WAC.

I see a lot of great rivalries for many of the schools, including the Shox. WSU travels well. Shocker Nation would travel even better with this group.
