Favorite moment putting a 09 on Eck Stadium. The dog pile at the end of the tournament. The way they proved they belonged in the BCS Tournament with there two one run loses. As some teams are getting beat 16-0.
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

Uh? I've been accused of being a KU fan, but a MO St. fan? You must be smoking the crazy whack funky.

Anyway, I look forward to next year. Our pitching will be better, and our hitting will be marginally better. We should be back to close to 40 wins.

Garrett won't be coming so that hurts, let us all pray that Micah Greene doesn't go pro as well. We can definitely use his bat to boost our inept offense.

I'm thankful this team got some playoff experience, now, it's time to see what Mean Gene does this offseason during house cleaning.

Grimes leadoff double in the MVC championship and his showing of emotion to get the Shox pumped up really sticks out to me.Grimes will be the leader of this team in years to come.

            Agreed.

I think we'll be a Top 25 team next year, assuming we get a little bit better on the offensive end.

Sometimes, ok most of the time, I can't figure you out.

              But I will say this:

I feel for you. I do believe you are a WSU fan, regardless of what some others think. I could be wrong but deep down I do think you are a fan.

But you know what? You're a lousy fan. You're a fan we can do without. You don't have to see the program through yellow colored glasses but where's the emotional investment?

Let me say that when you give your heart, your love, your effort and your money to the programs.....like fans like Shirley, RDR, dbhays etc etc, when you really live for the programs, when they lose it hurts, when the games are over, it hurts....when you see the kids sad and it brings you to tears....emotionally invest and maybe you'll really enjoy the successes. I don't think you ever can really enjoy the successes. You are so blinded by whatever it is that drives you to be who you are.....you're never going to enjoy the good times.

And that's sad....and it's even more sad you aren't alone. You just make the most noise.

For reasons not germane to this discussion, I will be taking a sabbatical. I may be back for volleyball season, and I may not.

I have always enjoyed the banter here, whether friendly or not, and I will miss it and many if not most of the good people here.

              Take care &

Well said Doc. It seems KC gets the most excited when we lose and he told us so, but lays low when we win.

I had my doubts at the beginning of the year, but I've stuck through the end. And I am NEVER happy to see my team LOSE under ANY circumstances.

                Wait.. a sabbatical?

It's the offseason and I'm not gonna be on much either, but don't be saying this "I may not.." nonsense.

I think I would have to agree with this post. That 09 means a lot more this year than most. It will be great seeing it up there. :wsu_posters:

Adding the '09 to the facade was a huge accomplishment for this team and its coaches and clearly the highlight of a dismal 2009 season.

I watched nearly all home games and a few on the road and thought "no way" would this team be able to come together to the point where they controlled their own fate and could win their way into the NCAA Tournament. Well, they proceeded to dump sCUm 3 times to finish 3rd in the league and then came back after the no-no to hold off sCUm and make it into the tournament the hard way. All-in-all, they made us proud.

Good on the coaches for keeping the team focused and for playing the correct cards at the correct times.

We've seen underperforming teams in the past and seen the resolve of the coaches to bring the program back from dark times - I think we'll see it one more time. The pitching staff is in good shape and a few pieces are there offensively and defensively. Getting more, better horses in the stable to compete for jobs is a must and will be a challange, but I think from what I've seen there are good things down the line.

I do hope you are able to return for the volleyball season. Best of luck on your sabbatical.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

so you think we should be crying every time WSU loses? I'm a fan, but that's just over the top. I hate when they lose, I hate when the Chiefs lose, and I'm gonna show emotion, but crying definitely isn't one of them. I was probably one of the most excited people in the stands when they beat Creighton for the MVC title this year after what can be considered their worst regular season ever. I do have to agree with you though Wu, KC Shox does seem to enjoy it the most when WSU loses.
