  • Count down to 2010, looking back at 09

272 days, 4 hours, 40 minutes until 7pm on the 26th of February, which is my best guess as to when we will play next.

So what was your favorite moment of 2009 other than sweeping CU in the last series and winning the Tourney?

Being undefeated after the first two games of the year.
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

My 27 game win season prediction. Exacting revenge on KU's Ridenhour at our payback game in Wichita, getting swept by OU, KU and KSU this year, and losing to Ark Pin Bluff after scoring 20 runs in the first game.

Congrats on your team's win over Dartmouth today.

Not a single game but watching Tim Kelley & Cooper pitch. It's to bad, we couldn't give them run support.

Also, Baez stepping up far beyond what you can ask for in regionals.

I'm looking forward to the Baez/Grimes tandem in the middle infield and Coy playing third. Also, the growth of our young starting pitching and possibly adding Gould.

Add some power in the middle and a few relievers and we will be aight.

Congrats to your Cats if our two game undeated 2-0 start of the season was yours.

We were undefeated and my hopes hadn't been squashed at the time. It was a bad season, with few bright spots. You picking our losses and gleeing about your 27-win prediction doesn't seem like the same thing. But then again, maybe I'm just seeing things.

There is no possibility of Gould playing for WSU.

The only bright side of this season was WSU winning the MVC tournament during a very frustrating year.

This was my least favorite year from all that I can remember (the 2001 season didn't bother me all that much because I could see the future).

Hopefully changes will be made where needed and this program can get back on track.

Gould will never wear a Shocker uniform.

Favorite moments had to be the Valley Tournament against Indiana State. My hand still hurts from beating on the seat in front of me.

Disappointing game today but what the heck we will get them next year.

We are staying to watch the Hoggies and Dirt Thieves go at it tonight. I may have four dozen peel and eat shrimp tonight.

                      When does fall ball start?
Let's hope he can hit a D-1 Curve ball!

Knowing that KC Shock owes $30 to the cause of WSUwatcher's choosing even though there were 5 games the Shockers could have won lost due to weather.

                        Wager

If WSU wins only 27 games this year -- no asterisks, no discounting replacements like the two non-Div 1 games instead of the two probable victories lost to weather at Bradley, no ignoring Valley tournament results -- just 27 games, period, I will contribute $150 to either SASO or the Battery Club (your choice) in your name -- or, if you eventually choke on your endless "realism," I'll do it in your memory. If they somehow win even fewer, I'll give you a break and instead of accusing you of being overly optimistic, I'll donate $200 instead...if

I'll do this, that is, if you agree to donate $10 to the same cause of my choosing for every game WSU wins over 27. (Same counting methods: all victories count, including those in postseason play, because that's how the records have always been compiled -- no exceptions, just a win is a win, whether it's against Kansas Wesleyan in April or Texas in June.)

Well Shirley you were really concerned about recruiting violations with him, I thought he was coming?

I guess it's time to prepare for volleyball.
                            1. In the spring, WSU beat Nebraska. While not a "real" match, this was fantastic.
                            2. Some great new recruits joining a really strong team. Our 2009 recruiting class is mentioned in one of the categories of "honorable mention."
                            3. Stephanie Tokarz looks to be back in the starting rotation and playing well. Sarah McGee was great last year. We are very strong at middle blocker.
                            4. We are very strong at outside hitter with 2008 AVCAHMAA (AVCA Honorable Mention All-American) Emily Stockman plus Lindsey Eckenrode, Amanda Backes, etc.
                            5. We have CVU 2008 freshman of the year, Mary Elizabeth Hooper, as setter. We also have an incoming setter, 6'2" Chelsey Feekin, who is #72 among the Senior Aces.
                            6. Everything else. A great team. Loads of depth. Great coaches. Great people. Great players. GREAT FANS!!!
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Sorry I have never said he would attend Wichita State.

He could use the instruction of Kemnitz for the next three years because he is very immature but the family needs the cash so he will sign.

I was just trying to alert the young and dumb that there are certain guidelines that you have to follow, even if they "hang together".

If you are going to violate NCAA recruiting rules it is best not to run your mouth on an internet message board.

On another note JJ Clamdip was thrown out of the OU - WSU game the other night for yelling " Help em Ump " while sitting in the front row behind home plate in the middle of the OU contingent.
Let's hope he can hit a D-1 Curve ball!
