Not sure, he was one of the top 10 pitchers overall in the Jupiter Wood Bat Tournament that Garrett won the MVP award at. Also a three sport athlete and was one of the top 10 football players and a three star on rivals I believe before he decided to not play football and concentrate on baseball.

TJ is one of the best competitors I've seen at his age. The kid absolutely refuses to lose and wills his teammates at times to do the same.

He packages that with talent and a ready for college body...kid's a beast. He finishes his high school career as arguably the best athlete in his school's history. Having been the leader on state championship football, basketball, and baseball teams.

I don't think you ever expect a freshman pitching season like Cooper delivered unless you Gould decides to go the college route. I think what Turfin is saying is that this kid has all of the tools to be in the mix for a 3rd - 5th starter immediately. Again, I wouldn't expect that but it sounds like this is the kind of kid we NEED as WSU!!! Refuse to lose and bring the others along with you if you have to!

expect isn't really the word i should have used. hope that he might be another solid starter as a freshman is what i should have asked.

I only had a chance to see TJ in person with the Giants last summer that one of the Carlson boys coached, and he didn't pitch any of the games. I followed Cooper here from his freshman year at state in Winfield when he shut down the No. 1 team going in while sitting with several juco coaches and scouts.

I can't answer that for sure, although I'd probably go with Cooper on the mound.

HOWEVER: I will go on record that if WSU wants to compete at the plate, both need a bat in their hands be it as a DH when not pitching. It's a team thing and I know it won't happen, but both are better hitters than the Shockers showed at the plate this year IMHO.

TJ as a starter as a freshman. Only if Gould and one other current sign. However, Turf is correct, this kid was the quarterback on the football team, point guard for basketball, and No. 1 pitcher for baseball.

Have a great day all. BTW, our rivals.com team is out and we have some great sophomores listed coming up.
