  • Hi Guys...It's that time again (Your Nole buddy).

    Congrats guys...where ya heading?

Here in the southeast, the word is that the NCAA is trying to save on travel money by not sending schools cross country if they can avoid it.

FSU finished as the regular season #1 seed in the ACC but blew the title game in the 9th inning to Virginia. FSU is hosting a regional here in Tallahassee that will mark Coach Martin's 30th consecutive year going to a regional.

Noles are young and are very weak against good pitching in the back half of the line up this year and I don't expect a long run in post season.

    How are the Shockers looking?

We are going 100 miles to our south to Norman and are facing the No.7 national seed Sooners, in the bracket opposite of you.

Second straight year we're going on the road to Oklahoma with Florida State lurking in the distance.

    Thanks for stopping by.
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

We had the worst season in the Gene Stephenson era. We only made the Regional by winning our conference tourney. We finished the season 27-25. We got hit hard in the draft before the season and we had some key injuries which resulted in a down year for us.

On the bright side, we are in the OU Regional, so if we win it, we will be facing you guys back in Tallahassee in the Supers. Let's hope that happens.

Well...the bracket in Tallahassee has FSU, Georgia, Ohio State, and Marist. Georgia, I reckon, will be the toughie to stop FSU from advancing.

Virginia got screwed by the selection committee...they won the tournament, finished with an RPI rank of #6...and they go to California.

Virginia...maybe the best record in college baseball. conference tourney champions (in a conference where five teams are in top eleven in
        RPI)...and they got hosed.

Like Fever said thanks for coming by.

This year was a crazy year to be a Shocker fan. Our starting weekend pitchers were about the only plus. Our defense, bullpen, and hitting has been inconstant. However, after 8 days off late in the season & some changes to the lineup, we managed to sweep our hated rivals Creighton. We also won our conference tourney like KC mentioned. Maybe we got all the bad stuff out of our system in the early & mid season?

Our regional features #7 national seed Oklahoma. We lost to Oklahoma in a pair of midweek games (15-0 & 8-1). Maybe the 3rd time will be a charm . Also #2 Arkansas & #3 Washington State are in our regional. It's going to be a tough regional for us to get out of, but honestly I don't know what to expect with this team.

Good luck to FSU in your regional.

I watched Arkansas in the SEC tourney. Good defense and they have a pretty good ace...not as strong on pitching depth as some SEC teams. Their bull pen got beat up bad by Vandy.

A top 20 team going into the tournament...another tuff draw.

It looks like the chair of the selection committee took care of his own with the big 12 getting 8 bids and two national seeds.

Even Okie St got a bid and they didn't even make the big 12 tourney.

After the way the chair took care of his conference, I am kind of surprised Kstate isn't hosting a regional. I guess that would have been too much gravy. :posterwu:

k-state probably would've hosted if they would've beat texas to advance to the big 12 final
