If there's a melancholy silver lining in this season, it's the fact that two of our primary regional foes when it comes to recruiting and exposure (NU & OSU) had seasons just as bad or worse.

Despite the hand-wringing we see around this forum, our program still carries a ton of respect nationally.

I forget exactly which year it was, but just within the past 5 years or so, we got an at-large for no other reason than we were Wichita State.

According to Boyd's database, we haven't beat 0U since the 2006 regular season. They returned the favor and kicked us out of their regional that same year by beating us twice.

SG is 10-5 against us while a head coach at ORU and 0U. As they would say, "we got nothin'".

Baylor gets in losing 12 of their last 14 games. OSU gets in winning only 2 conference series and finishing 9th out of 10 teams in the regular season.

I think the chair of the committee did a good job getting gravy for his conference.

I can't really argue with Ku getting in, they finished 5th in the big 12 and had a 15-15 record against the rpi top 50. But there were several teams with better rpis than KU that got left out including Dallas Baptist (rpi 39 vs. Ku rpi of 53).

In baseball, anything can happen (between 2 "same level" teams). Earlier, his statement about dropping WSU off OU's schedule was a little too arrogant, IMO.
