  • All Valley Team Released

My apologies if this has already been discussed.

Kind of have a problem with Charlie Lowell being totally left off the team.

6-2 with a 2.97 ERA.....those numbers seem to compare fairly well.

On a side note, has Cobey Guy really pitched 6.2 innings and given up only 1 hit (a single) 1 walk but yet 3 runs? Opponents are hitting .050....how is that possible? I can't seem to remember that outing.

1 first team, 1 seocnd team, 1 honorable mention for the third place team in the conference. Coaches vote for this. I hope we run rule 4 teams this week.

The only argument you can really make is Kelley being left off first team. I agree that it's a joke.

I am not in the least bit surprised though seeing how the other Valley coaches love kicking the Shox when their down.

            ... No really, deuces.

Missouri State won the regular season. I guess that means they deserved more spots. I wonder how come that doesn't work when WSU wins the regular season.

WSU has 3 of the top 7 SPs in the Valley. Hopefully, they'll show their stuff this week. Bulletin board material indeed!!

Statistically, the 2 InSt pitchers shouldn't even be honorable mention, but got in with high ERAs due to their team's second place finish.

I think that it could be summed up by looking at the overall all sports trophy count. WSU just won it's 17th. Next closest is 11. It's an inferiority complex. :D

What'll really get your goat is looking at the Conference only pitching statitistics. http://www.mvc.org/baseball/2009stat....htm#leagp.mlb

Baumann isn't even the best pitcher on his own team!! Meade's numbers are quite a bit better than Baumann's and there are quite a few starters with better overall numbers.

Kelley certainly deserved a 1st team nod, but that's life in the Valley - it's all about wins. Baumann's 10 wins overall and 6 wins in-conference are the best in the league. If I were to pick a POY, it would be Meade. His .199 BA against and slightly over 1.00 whip are darn good.

Anyone want to wager if that short joke-of-a-coach over at Springfield will let Baumann start Wed. AND Sat.?

Bigger question is who will be the coach of year?

Meggs of ISU (Blue) is my choice. But the way of the MVC has been these two scenarios:

                      1. If WSU wins the league - coach from any other team (usually the dark horse team) that exceeded expectation is named COY.

                      2. If WSU doesn't win the league - coach from the team that wins the league is named COY.

Nope, that would be a bad bet. The butcher from SWMO will do anything he can to win. I just hope the Shox are there to make him pay like they have in the past.

I agree Rosewood, they are meaningless to WSU as they get shafted every single year. I would rather we have 6 or 7 players on the all tournament team, that would mean that we are probably in the finals and more than likely have won it. Wouldn't that be a HOOT and shove it in the face of Whiney Butt (Servais) and the win at all cost MSU.
