    What a bizarre career

    and a great quote ...

"Tony has gone from as high as you can get to being drafted and going to Wichita State, a school every high school kid dreams about to where he was at Creighton."
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

wow talk about having "entitlement" fever.

all I got out of that article is that he and his dad thinks he was entitled to a starting spot as oppossed to earning one. sorry but that article pissed me off.

      I got the opposite impression.

Couple his "freshman getting freshman innings" comment with "if Gene had redshirted him", I think he's saying that Tony wasn't ready to play his freshman year and could have greatly benefitted from a redshirt.

        hmmm, maybe

I see a dad and son who have a very specific goal and didn't like the goals of the schools he attended. So in one respect he is right....he should have just went pro. Don't go to a college team then expect them to put your personal development over winning.

I think Ta town is very close on this one. Even Brett Favre couldn't get away with this mentality. Anyone that doesn't want to compete for their position should be shown the door. Things turned out how they should...

That article was highly complimentary of Wichita State and I read nothing of an entitlement attitude in it. It even sounds like he wished he was still here. I hope the kid gets drafted and makes it to the majors.

I dont read any entitlement in this article either. Quite the opposite. His dad wishes he was redshirted freshman year instead of starting the "elegibility clock". "Freshman innings" may just mean innings without the pressure of having to produce, you know, like in basketball where they get in at the end of the game. This article was highly complimentary of WSU baseball. Leave it to Shockerfan to find some problem with it.

Kitten State fan mindlessly ranting and caring about the feelings of Shockerfan.

so why did he leave CU you dumb azz? Go ahead and explain how that one had to do with red shirting and freshman innings?

Look he came back to WSU the next fall then when it was apparent that he was going to be the 3rd string catcher he bolted. I don't blame him for bolting if he wanted playing time but just be honest about it.

He needs PT to get drafted and that is his goal. No biggie, I just don't like the dad acting like college baseball isn't what it use to be and that the pros really care about developing players.

I disagree with the idea that pros develop ALL players. YES, If they have an investment in you then yes they will take the time. Otherwise youre just a roster filler and if you pan out great, if not then no biggie to them. My guess is if Tony would have gone pro out of high school like is dad is now saying would have been best then he would have already been out of organized ball.

I like Tony but if he had signed out of high school he would have had his $1000 signing bonus and one or two years of minor league ball.

Teams don't spend any time developing 40+ rounders.

I hope Tony does get his shot and does well.

As far as the article goes it sounds like the only real negative criticism was directed at Creighton. The WSU part wasn't that bad.

And thank you for proving my point by continually posting aimlessly at a site for your obsession, the Wichita State Shockers.

And you wonder why nerdy Kitty fans are obsessed with gay doings around the country..
