Reminds me of Boston Red Sox in 2006 finishing the year at .531
We all know what happened in 2007.

    Go Sox, go Shox

This has to be the most anemic postgame of all time. Will there even be an OU thread? Things are dreary around here, real dreary.

It just doesn't seem like there's any point in beating this dead horse any more.

Beyond the lack of motivation, talent, coaching, or whatever the problem(s) are, the team is dragging themselves around like a whipped puppy.

I sit down the 1B line and can see right into the Shox dugout. When Grimes linedrive was snagged by the 3B, there was a moment of elation, then shoulders and heads dropped in the dugout and all around the ballpark. You could feel the life being sucked out of the place. They could have posted "Here we go again!" on the jumbotron and it would have been very fitting.

There just isn't much more to say.

William, it seems the only time your glass is half full is when you're defending K-State.

The Shox will be fine. They are in a tough slump, have lost a lot of their confidence, and probably somewhat embarrassed to be wearing a Shocker uniform. However, they are indeed young, they will get better - much better, and when I have the chance, will personally cheer them to victory at Eck. They'll soon get a good ol' fashioned Shocker winning streak going. They'll regain confidence and they'll start winning and having fun.
We all knew this was going to be an "up and down" season. They'll fight their way out of it.

          :goshocks:

The one thing people can console themselves is this type of thing will average out - it may not be this year, but in the end the breaks will break equally.

My head wants to believe that, but my heart wants Grimes' hit to get over the 3B and give the team a lift. I've watched enough baseball to understand that the breaks even out, but this team can certainly use a little run of "things going their way" to help their morale.

In sports the breaks you get are easily forgotten or attributed to skill, and the breaks that go against you are remembered vividly, its just human nature.
