JC, that was quite a performance by JC. Giving up only 1 unearned run over a complete game wth the howling out to left field was definitely an impressive performance.

Great pitching great defence except 1 error and good hitting and a 2-1 series win over Long Beach. Ready or not it is conference time. I think they are ready. If not one more tune up Tuesday night against ORU. :wsu_posters:

        Great game, great weather.
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Shockers have quietly won 3 series in a row.

How many people would have been happy if before the season somebody told you that WSU would win the Pepperdine and LBS series.

Still some things to get worked out and some depth to be developed but WSU schedule should get a little easier on weekends. Mid-week games still look a little tricky though., but there should only be 1 game most weeks (until mid april where there are a 2 games a week).

The weekend rotation of Kelly, Lowell and Cooper has certainly been impressive.

The bullpen has been inconsistent and sometimes downright bad, but Muncrief, Sossamon and Remington have shown they can get the job done.

The offense was better in the last two games, but looks like we still we be relying primarily on our pitching and defense to carry us.

Not sure. I still have not heard anything since his last appearance. I would suspect we will hear something this week. Not sure what sort of testing or looking they plan to do as his fore arm was burning. But Lets all pray its nothing severe and he will be pitching again soon. Better safe than sorry though. If they aren't sure whats wrong it would be better to play it safe and not risk anything.

Hey Grant... Lets not be a tough guy again and fail to tell our coaches about any arm problems OK!!! I appreciate the toughness and your willingness to play through some nagging injuries but that's how nagging injuries end seasons and lead to major surgery.

I whole-heartedly agree. Tyler Fleming did that last year didn't he?

Losing Grant would really, really hurt, but the short-term benefits are simply not worth the risk of ruining his arm for good.

Hi, everyone. Yeah, it's been a while and I'm sure you missed me. Ha. Ha. I look at everyone at the games and wonder if they're a shockernetter. Having a close family member on the team, I have decided it's probably not healthy for me to come in here. As you all know, I'm not exactly a shrinking violet when it comes to giving an opinion. I don't want to embarrass my favorite Shocker, though, so I have to tone it down. I can't speak for anyone else, but I find myself wondering which team will show up for games. You just never know with this group. I find it a little exciting, as well as unsettling. On the plus side, you can't really count them out. Buckle up, we're in for a roller coaster ride. Good thing I love roller coasters!

                        Cooper is from Topeka.

I thought someone (was it KC Shox?) said we weren't getting kids from Northeast Kansas anymore.

                          Topeka

No, ABC -- in defense of my good friend, the esteemed KC, he said WSU has a hard time against KU when it comes to getting guys from Johnson County. That's true.

This year, for example, the count is 3-0 in favor of KU on Johnson County players. Not surprising. Johnson County = Kansas City, which is a major league sports town (well, sort of), which means there's a limited amount of attention available for college sports --- and what attention there is goes almost entirely to KU and Missouri. Wichita is kind of an afterthought. Topeka is northeast Kansas as well, but the players there at least hear about WSU now and then.

I think it was Northeast Kansas. And I can assure you that Topeka is just as dominated by KU and KSU as is Johnson County.

The thing we'll never know is what kind of scholarship WSU offered vs. KU for these kids.

WSU never gives full rides and I would guess that KU occassionaly does or provides a bigger %.
