  • Streaming audio test

We're making some changes in how we do our streaming which will eventually affect the ShockerRadio streams.

Before we actually do this in anger to the main stream I'd like to get any feedback anyone has on a test of the new streaming. Better to find out now than in the middle of the next game.

So if you normally listen to ShockerRadio.com I'd be interested in an feedback you might have about the new streaming.

A sample stream can be found at:

Of course its just streaming dead air right now but what I'm really most interested is if the stream starts normally and plays like it should. The encoder isn't changing, just the server so the actual audio should remain unchanged.

If you have any comments about the new stream please let me know at owenc@hubris.net

    Many thanks.

Why is today's game (Arkansas Pine Bluff game 3) not on ShockerRadio?

Why weren't the TCU games on?

        It is on.

As far as I know they were. Looks like they were archived which could only happen if the stream was on.

          Re: Streaming audio test

BTW, this has all gone live now. Both the streams are now pointing at the new streaming server.

If you had previously bookmarked a direct link to the stream (say in iTunes) you will need to delete that bookmark and go to www.shockerradio.com to get the new URL.

I tried both streams at 15 minutes before 3:00 and all I heard was dead air. I heard the intros so I know I was connected to the streams.

At TCU I tried multiple times each day and got nothing.

I have no idea if audio was playing at that time or not. I don't start the archives until 5 til. I know audio was playing then because I checked and also because the archive worked.

Well I checked the archives and they seem to both have game in them. I can't know for sure without listening to them that the whole game is there but they do appear to have a least game at the points I checked. The archives are nothing more than a client on the stream just like you would be so it appears that they were working.

Nothin'. Dead air. Both streams. I'm getting it on knss online.

I get the intro, so I know it's working on my end, and then NADA.

Well getting the intro means it is working end to end.

Looks like they turned on the audio about 13 minutes into the game.
