  • TV vs. The Eck

Friday is the 2nd day of the 1st round of the dance. What is better opening round of NCAA tourney or live baseball at The Eck? I will be at The Eck. Long Beach State vs. Wichita State how could I miss that. Where will you be?
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

I'll be at work. Then I'll go home and see what the baseball team did or how they're doing. Then I'll ignore the tournament since I don't need to waste my time on that joke...

      This one is easy ...

Taking off Thursday and Friday for March Madness. On Friday, I plan stay sober enough to head over to the Eck for the 7pm start. Sorry, even though the tournament committee fell asleep at the wheel this year, the first two days of March Madness are still the two greatest days in sports. Having Shox vs. Dirt Bags for dessert is just a bonus!

I do hope to attend at least one game this year. I doubt this Friday will be it though.

How about both by means of a skybox? I'd take a live WSU baseball game over the first round of the NCAA tourny with no hesitation. Speaking on this subject a little further... I really hope the basketball game ends up Wednesday night as not to conflict with the second game of the double header the baseball team has Tuesday. Keeping my fingers crossed!

                  Easy

Weather is a factor, so is family activity. But despite all the endless hype, I personally don't care about the NCAA tournament any more unless the Shocks are in it.

Unfortunately, that means I seldom do, but I'm confident Marshall and Co. will be changing that soon.

Every year there seems to be a scheduling conflict here, with a home basketball game and a home baseball game. Quite a few times the games are scheduled back to back and I have made the walk/run/sprint from Baum Stadium to Bud Walton Arena or vice versa to see both. I have listened to baseball games at basketball games, basketball games at baseball games, baseball games at softball games (often!) and occasionally have awkwardly held my walkman in the air looking for AM reception inside Razorback Stadium to listen to the baseball team play while watching the football team scrimmage.

That's what's so frickin awesome about college sports!

Sadly I will not be watching my Hogs play in the NCAA (or any other) Tournament. I still love March Madness and will watch all the games I can. Friday I'll have the Hogs playing baseball on the radio and the sound off on the tournament on TV.
