Why is it when we get beat the thread makes it to a 5th page the same day, but when we win we get 2 or 3?

Oh, and the demise of this baseball program this year has been greatly exaggerated this year. I can understand the we're not going to win 40 games posts, but can't understand our coaching sucks posts...

I was thinking the same thing.

Some people choose to focus on the negative.

You have to like what the future holds for WSU starters and certain extent the BP. Hard to say much about the hitting, but they did score some runs against quality pitchers so that has to be a plus.

The hitting is still atrocious. This team is particularly atrocious at hitting with men in scoring position. The Waves were kind of enough in committing that two base error yesterday that plated 2 unearned runs. for the Shox. Had that first basemen make the routine play this game would have been an extra inning affair. But I will take em' any way I can get em'.

The starting pitching was great, the bullpen so-so. But it is improving and for freshman, Jordan and Charlie looked good against ranked competition. I'm hoping these guys can produce Kris Johnson type of freshman seasons this year.

Should I quote some of your 'positive' comments you made after the second game against Pepperdine?
              Deuces Valley.
              ... No really, deuces.

And remember kids, our multi-year offensive issues don't have ANYTHING to do with the hitting coach.

I've been told that enough times here on SN that I actually almost believe it.

As of the OT, I'm quite thrilled that we came away with the series win against a quality opponent (and a nats arse away from a sweep). Honestly, while my future optimism for the program has grown due to a couple killer recruiting classes, I had viewed this season as a bit of a wash. Maybe this season will hold more for us than just biding time for the future.

Sure. I think I had a balance response that is still valid after watching the painful meltdown in the 9th in person. Some positives, some negatives and I decided not to say some things I was feeling about some players who I felt efforts let down the team.

But I will say this again - the only thing that is going to be consistent about this team is it's inconsistency unless some of the upper classmen step forward an lead this team.

It is hard to argue with this - the stats don't lie. I usually track the progress relative to other benchmark seasons, but this year is so bad it is just to depressing, probably because it is becoming a benchmark (as the worst offensive season in history) in itself unless something changes.

But, I do expect this team will get better as the season progresses as the young guys gain experience and confidence. Also I think the veteran guys are not hitting to their full potential.

If Saturday had been a nice warm day with the normal southerly wind, we would have been talking about the 2 shocker HR in the 8th inning. But it is what it is and those type of things will even out some year.

I'm not as excited about this win as I was yesterday.
