This loss is on the "veterans".

Lassley, McKeever, Jones and Caster left 7 runners stranded (out of 8 total). Hutson squanders a nice outing by young Banwart.

Shox spent a lot of time watching pitches go by waiting for Oslund to stumble. Guess what? He didn't. 112 pitches this early in the season is interesting, but you can't call anyone out on it unless you make them pay.

Really nice defensive plays by Hall and Caster.

The highlight of the day was Bob Homolka flopping on the ground down the 3B line.

It really looks to me like pitching and defense are going to be the keys to success this season. Mean Gene might need to think small ball to get some runs on the board, although today there wasn't even much chance of doing that.

    Get 'em in Texas!

We can take this series at TCU. Let's rebound and get this on! :posterwu:
If we win 1 of 3 at TCU I will be happy. They return all of their starting pitching from last year's tournament team and 7 of 9 starters in the field. They have already beat Fullerton twice, Ole Miss, a solid Dallas Baptist squad and will face Baylor on Wed. prior to us.

We have owned them the last three years, I believe we are 5-0 in that time, but I believe they are foaming at the mouth to exact some revenge on our young team this time around.

      I believe I predicted 0-3 for the series, let's hope I'm wrong.

I was sitting at the ballpark today watching the proceedings and thinking 0-3 vs. TCU, then I thought one of the young guns could rise to the occasion and the Shox could steal a 2-1 or 3-2 win in one of the games.

I'd take it. They need to go into the spring break series vs. Pepperdine and LBSU a little pissed off with something to prove.

Oddly, the Shox weren't in position to steal ANY bases vs. BYU, which can be a strength. If a few guys get on with 0 or 1 out they'll bring back the running game and speed kills.

I know all of this. Normally, I'd be questioning it too. But we can WIN THIS. We have the talent and coaching to do it! We just don't lose in baseball, NO MATTER WHAT! :yahoo: :posterwu: :posterwsu:

I want the old Fever back. You have been brainwashed. This new happy-go-lucky Fever is so transparently fake, it is hard to take you seriously. Tone it down, but don't change the essence of what makes Fever - Fever.

Beaz 3 stolen bases in 8 games. What's up with that? Plus he doesn't seem to run the bases very well. Won't go first to third on a hit most guy do.
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

What's up is that he is batting .231. But, he does have 9 base on balls. Perhaps opponents this guy has good speed and is checking him harder than others.

Not brainwashed, just taking one for the team.
