Sounds like Max still likes throwing the meat.

We can do this. I am 100% CONFIDENT we will come back and win this game. 1 run? No, not gonna happen. We will have 5 by the time it's all said and done.

We score 1 unearned run today. Oh well. It happens.

We can take this series at TCU. Let's rebound and get this on! :posterwu:

                    BYU

Interesting roster. Today's starting pitcher is a true freshman, but one of quite a few guys they have from southern California, so he's probably more experienced and polished than lots of freshmen are. In fact, they list on their roster nine Californians, plus three guys from Texas and five more from Arizona,Hawaii, or Las Vegas who are probably used to playing year round.

Also, they show "rostered years," presumably to reflect when guys were off doing Mormon missions. Ten players on the roster have gaps in their careers, mostly of two years, including a guy from Steve Uhlmansiek's high school in Albuquerque.

                      Well...

The good news is that the pitching was pretty good, even on a day with the wind blowing hard out of the south (at least according to the weather conditions shown on Live Stats), although it was disappointing to see Hutson's knack for giving up the long ball visit the park once again.

The bad news is that an unearned run on three hits isn't much of an offensive effort, especially on a day with the wind blowing hard out of the south.

If the pitching performs the way we've seen so far, there's good reason for optimism this year. But if the hitters don't show more punch, we'll be hearing from KC all season -- and who wants that?

I don't like to be cold AND lose :(

And to answer WSUwatcher, a perfect season and a national title wouldn't put a stop to your last question.

Also that BYU home run was just well hit. It wasn't mashed, and the wind helped but it really looked like a lightly hit ball that just ran away.

It's a shame that we couldn't take advantage of the southerly jet and hit some 'lightly hit balls'.

Oh well. We'll get em on Friday!

I thought Banwart was very impressive today! Sure he didn't have the strike out numbers as a few others, but he really, and I mean really mixed it up well. He was always in control and looked very seasoned out there.
