In the Eagle's write-up on the game yesterday, what does this mean?

Sunday's game was played with an operating scoreboard or a public address announcer....

        That also means "bush league".

I'm sure Gene and Brent were thrilled by the time the team left the ballpark on Sunday. Crappy ballpark. All three games were played with just two umpires, which may have affected the outcome of Sunday's game. And the pitching staff was a no-show.

Sunday's game was played at a different place from Friday and Saturday, which were at FGCU's on-campus ballpark. Of course, neither park had a telephone so we had to endure the wonderful cell phone broadcast. Check this out (from http://www.ballparkreviews.com/fmyers/terry.htm ) RE: Sunday's venue:

"Terry Park was once the spring home to several major league teams, most recently the Kansas City Royals. Since the Royals left, the park has fell into somewhat disrepair. Although it still gets heavy use by college teams in the spring, the grandstand was determined to be unsafe in '04 and therefore was shutdown. Later in the year, the county made the decision to tear down the old grandstand and build a new one. So what stands at Terry Park now bears little resemblance to the above pictures. While the new grandstand is covered, it is much smaller and made of metal. It is unfortunate that the county decided not to try to save the classic grandstand. 2006 will mark the centennial anniversary of Terry Park - at least the playing field portion of it."
Florida doesn't seem nearly as sexy today as it did last week. I'd be interested in hearing from someone who went.
