Great start! I'll take 2-0 over 0-2 and 0-3 for the teams picked in front of us in the Valley any day..

Florida Gulf Coast is no Long Beach or OSU, but they're gonna be our best win of the tourney.

Let's finish it off tomorrow boys!

        :posterwu:
        Deuces Valley.
        ... No really, deuces.

          Lowell

I certainly hope -- and expect, by the way -- that Charlie Lowell will do a better job of keeping his wits about him after being pulled with a no-hitter going than Anthony Capra did last year.

That may have been Capra's last good game as a Shocker, but I'm pretty sure this will be the first of many for Lowell.

I think pitch count took Charlie out of the game.
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

I wonder if Gulf Coast is second guessing saving there ace for WSU there record is now 1-2.

And I hope our true freshman will see the light soon, 0-13 in the game is not on the right track.

Are we talking about the same Capra????
According to the 2008 WSU archives...
                    FYI:
The next 6 games following the 6 inning no hitter:
                    1) North Dakota State
                    innings pitched: 7 Hits: 4 Runs: 1 Earned runs: 1 BB: 2 K's: 11

                    2) Missouri State
                    innings pitched: 6 Hits: 3 Runs: 2 Earned runs: 2 BB: 2 K's: 5

                    3) Creighton
                    innings pitched: 7 Hits: 5 Runs: 2 Earned runs: 2 BB: 1 K's: 9

                    4) Southern Illinois
                    innings pitched: 7.2 Hits: 4 Runs: 3 Earnined runs: 1 BB: 2 K's: 9

                    5) Evansville
                    innings pitched : 5 Hits: 4 Runs: 2 Earned runs: 2 BB: 4 K's: 6

                    6) Bradley
                    innings pitched: 6 Hits: 6 Runs: 2 Earned runs: 1 BB: 3 K's: 7

                    Accumulative:
                    innings pitched: 38.2 Hits: 26 Runs: 13 Earned runs: 11 BB: 14 K's: 47

But let's not let the FACTS get in the way when you you are comparing this years players. Remember you have to compare the talent level of the opposing teams as well. Let's not get carried away with one game! And I like a guy with some fire in his belly. I would like to know how you would react to getting pulled from a game when you have a no hitter going. If you are the type of guy who just walks away from that I dont need you on my team. I realize that this is a new year and new players but lets not put down guys who gave it their all. One last fact... Capra made All American and was drafted in the 4th round by the Oakland Athletics so some people who actually know baseball think more of Capra then you do.

RIGHT ON SILVIO! I totally agree! I'd take Capra and the others, who left last year, back in a flash! We should be thanking them for all they did for WSU baseball and I personally look forward to seeing Carpa in the majors!
