T-minus sixteen hours until the first pitch of the season.

In spite of our youth, I am very hopeful for a sweep this weekend given the level of our competition. Nothing would make me happier than to see our underclassmen come out of the gates with guns blazing on offense tomorrow. Tim throwing a shutout to start things off wouldn't hurt either ;-)

Here's to a solid effort tomorrow and a fun weekend in the sun! :goshocks:

Will KGSO do a pre-game show from 9am to 11am then KNSS from 11am to noon ???

Temple will be throwing out Senior, Matt Moragiani (probably spelled wrong), who was the Owls' ace last year. In 2008, he was 6-5 with a 3.59 ERA. He pitched 80 innings and had approximately 45 punchouts and only 29 walks. It appears he will be around the plate, not overpowering, but his ERA says he can get outs.

Rivals has nominated Temple as one of the A-10's up and coming teams. So, this will be a decent first game test.

Typically, KNSS does about 20 minutes of pre-game for baseball. No call-in portion, just coaches comments, line-ups, keys to the game, and lots of commercials.

My understanding as of early this week ... there are no telephone lines in the facility where the games are being played and Shane Dennis and Terry Elliot will be broadcasting using a cell phone connection. Hopefully, some other arrangements have been made, but that was the status as of Monday evening. Might not be pretty. Shane will fill-in on play-by-play until Mike K. is done with basketball. I am really glad to see Terry Elliot has worked things out with Bill Maness. Terry is absolutely great on Shocker baseball broadcasts.

Has Terry worked things out? Or is Bill afraid of Shocker Nation? Baseball wouldn't be the same without Terry

Steve Nikorak, a two-way guy from last year, will pitch for Temple. Mongiardini apparently is hurt. Nikorak hit .264 and was 3-3 with a 4.58 in 35 innings last year. That's the word.

Temple is picked 6th in the A-10 pre-season polls. The program has improved steadily under fourth-year coach Rob Valli. They were 16-11 in conference games in '08, which was a school record for conference wins and good for 4th place. Their overall record of 27-29 was their best in 10 seasons. Their appearance in the A-10 post-season tournament was their first post-season action since 2002.

                    Most recent NCAA appearances: 1983, 1984, 2001.

James "Skip" Wilson coached at Temple from 1960-2005 - 46 seasons (wow!). Wilson had 1,034 wins - average of about 22.5 per season.

They claim their most experienced team. There are 8 seniors and 5 juniors on the roster. It looks like they'll be breaking in a bunch of new guys as well, with 9 freshman on-board.

Well I've got nothing on the shockerradio.com feeds unfortunately :(

Good thing I checked early and I have plenty of time to grab a real radio.
