I know the shorthorns don't leave the state of taxes very often but augie may not be able to leave the state due to legal status. god I love it!

The ticker on ESPN made it sound like it was the NCAA who suspended him.

I wonder what will come of this. He has so many titles / wins that I don't think that Texas "has to" fire him. Even if they do, a small school will be more than willing to pick him up (but who knows if he will be willing to go).

Very, very interesting. Opening day isn't that far away.

As a Shocker fan, I'm not sure I want to be in the "stone throwing" business regarding the misdeeds or alleged misdeeds of baseball coaches. "Soggy" and "10" could be one volatile mix at a party.

You are a very smart man Johnnie.
Let's hope he can hit a D-1 Curve ball!

It is national news and not all sins were created equal.

I would just drop this line of reasoning because it's like going out walking on a ice covered pond. The ice sure seemed thick enough until you fall in and as your struggling to get out you might uncover some other skeletons.

Take the story as is and don't try to make some moral equivocation and tie Gene to it.

Actually, Shirley, neither you nor Johnnie have the brains of the Geico gecko. This was a news story and nothing more, and no one who posted before Johnnie, however ungracious they may have been, was throwing stones at Garrido. Johnnie manufactured that worry for no appoarent reason, you jumped on it because you have no use for Stephenson, and the others who responded as if there was some sort of Gene-Augie comparison or controversy fell into your trap of stupid irrelevancy, which I'm hoping now to close and discard.

I admire the man for what he has done for the University, I do not like the way he conducts his personal life.

Let's just leave it at that.

Fair enough, Shirley. I understand your point, although I'm not sure either of us really knows the truth of how Gene conducts himself, which is why I'll refrain from making such observations myself.

In any case, I won't accuse you of throwing stones, although considering that what you've said is more of a judgment about Gene's conduct than any of the gloating about Garrido was about his, Johnnie may be forced to chime in with another of his Pavlovian anti-judgmentalism outbursts.
