Battery Club Meeting Sept 8th

Shelley ran the meeting.

Sandwiches from Planet Sub, introduced a few of the players.

New field turf scheduled to start going down by mid October and will be ready for next season.

Gene, Brent, J.T. and Shane could not take the time out of their crushing schedules to make an appearance.

I am stupified that none of the coaching staff made it.

I guess they take the fans for granted and do not care.

Shirley you need to get off your horse and get over whatever problem you have with this program. Nobody cares about your pissy opinions about this coaching staff. You got a problem with them not being there then take it up with them instead of trying to deface the program on here. Seriously though you need to find another crowd to try and manipulate and push your feelings on.

Let me rephrase them,

I was surprised that none of the coaching staff made it to the dinner.

It would have been a great opportunity to let the fans know how things are going since almost all of the team next season will be new faces.

It would also have been a great time to just say hello and show your appreciation for the continued support shown by the Battery Club members.

I guess that they were busy.

I'm not here to defend Shirley, and I think her avatar is telling.

But as a Battery Clubber myself -- I just wore my black polo shirt one day last week, in fact -- and a long-time fan of Gene and Brent, it strikes me too as a bit odd that none of the coaches could make it, especially at this time of year. Royal's question as to whether their absence was explained is a good one, and I also wonder why the meeting had to be held at a time when no coach was available.

The team was practicing right before the event. The coaches absenses are perplexing.

Perhaps the avatar is telling...an astute, successful woman, self-made, able to think on her feet, behave comfortably around men, hold people accountable for their actions, willing to fight for what is right, take a position based on core principles without the benefit of a poll...etc. I say we need more women like this. This certainly doesn't describe an "ACORN" community agitator. ;-)

The purpose of the Battery Club is to raise money for projects deemed worthy by Coach Stephenson.

The source of money is from battery club members.

An appearance from a coach to say, "Thanks", doesn't seem to be asking too much. Of course, I could be wrong again.
