Interesting stats, however, he missed on the top winning % as WSU's 16-11 CWS record would put them at .593, ahead of Stanford.

      Bad info

Actually, ShockTalk, that's not the only way the guy is wrong.

Although his first table purports to be a list of "combined first and second place finishes," he obviously skipped over anybody who has played for the championship but never won it. In fact, his futility leader Florida State has played for the championship three times and is a glorious 0-3 (with our old buddy Mike Martin having been in charge for two of those three second-place finishes -- and could 0-2 happen to a nicer guy?). Also, right behind FSU is Southern Illinois (!), who along with Yale back in the days of George Bush #41 are 0-2 in the championship round (just like Martin -- way to go, Mike! You've had as much success in the CWS finals as Southern Illinois and Yale have).

So obviously, if the measure is just appearances in the finals, both SIU and Yale rank ahead of the four schools who played for the cahmpionship once and won. Personally, I do think 1-0 in the finals is a greater achievement than two runner-up finishes -- but that's not what his table supposedly compiles.
