ORU is close to losing some scholarship moneyfor baseball if they don't improve their academic progress rate.

Five signed for less than $50K? What the heck is up with that?

It could possibly be the well publicized financial and leadership problems at ORU.

Maybe, but ORU is going to be fine now. David Green, founder of Hobby Lobby, gave the university $70 million of his $1.8 billion net worth recently to cure the problem. I doubt that situation would have anything to do with a high school kid signing for less than $50K. More than likely they were just kids who were more into baseball than school and they saw this as a way to be able to try and reach their dream of playing in MLB. Unfortunately for 99% of the players who do this, they end up with nothing after three or four years of trying to make it when at least they could have gotten some of their education paid for if they had chosen to go to school.

It will definitely be interesting to see how they deal with this since they can't get D1 transfers to help.
