    Did you catch the Texas - Baltimore, baseball score at the end of the Channel 12 sportscast? Yes 30-3 and yes I said baseball. The most runs scored in a major league game in 110 years.

    I suspect someone was left out there to take one for the team.

    Ouch!

    :shock:

    Baltimore's starter gave up 6 earned runs in 5 innings. Not great, but 3 releivers allowed 24 earned runs in 4 innings.

    24 earned runs in 4 innings - that's only a 54.0 ERA.

      And what may be even stranger, is that someone actually got the save in that game. Who would have thought you'd get the save and your team would win by 27?

      Also, I believe I heard that they got those 30 runs on 29 hits.

            Why was Littleton awarded a save ? I thought in MLB if your team was up by 5 or more, there is no save credited.

            edit : answer :

            The official scorer shall credit a pitcher with a save when such pitcher meets all four of the following conditions:
            (1) He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his team;
            (2) He is not the winning pitcher;
            (3) He is credited with at least a third of an inning pitched; and
            (4) He satisfies one of the following conditions:
            (a) He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches at least one inning;
            (b) He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, or at bat or on deck (that is, the potential tying run is either already on base or is one of the first two batters he faces); or
            (c) He pitches for at least three innings.
