    Gene gets a helmet

    College coaching boxes will have a new look around the country next season as base coaches will be required to wear helmets. The new rule is in line with the requirement put in place last year by Major League Baseball.

    Gene probably hasn't had a helmet on since the Army.

    I read where one coach said wearing a helmet made him feel like a batboy again so it can't be THAT bad, right? ;-)

      This should be interesting to see if a control freak like Gene will move to the dugout and let JT take over at 3rd or if he will wear the helmet. I can't honestly say what I would do if presented with the same decision. I might just have to try the dugout for awhile and see how it goes... :-)
